Surah At Tur (The Mount) - سورة الطور
بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
{ والطور } أي الجبل الذي كلم الله عليه موسى .

{ وكتاب مسطور } .

And [by] a Book inscribed

Dan demi Kitab yang tertulis dengan rapi -
{ في رقٍّ منشور } أي التوراة أو القرآن .

In parchment spread open
Malay
Pada lembaran surat yang terbuka;
{ والبيت المعمور } هو في السماء الثالثة أو السادسة أو السابعة بحيال الكعبة يزوره كل يوم سبعون ألف ملك بالطواف والصلاة لا يعودون إليه أبدا .

Walbayti almaAAmoor
Sahih International
And [by] the frequented House
Malay
Dan demi "Al-Baitul Makmur";
{ والسقف المرفوع } أي السماء .
Transliteration
Wassaqfi almarfooAA
Sahih International
And [by] the heaven raised high
Malay
Dan demi bumbung yang tinggi;
{ والبحر المسجور } أي المملوء .
Transliteration
Walbahri almasjoor
Sahih International
And [by] the sea filled [with fire],
Malay
Dan demi laut yang penuh tepu (dengan kepanasan); -
{ إن عذاب ربك لواقع } لنازل بمستحقه .
Transliteration
Inna AAathaba rabbika lawaqiAA
Sahih International
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
Malay
Sesungguhnya azab Tuhanmu tetap berlaku; -
{ ماله من دافع } عنه .
Transliteration
Ma lahu min dafiAA
Sahih International
Of it there is no preventer.
Malay
Tidak ada sesiapapun yang dapat menolaknya; -
{ يوم } مفعول لواقع { تمور السماء مورا } تتحرك وتدور .
Transliteration
Yawma tamooru assamao mawra
Sahih International
On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion
Malay
Pada hari langit (dan segala isinya) bergegar dengan sekuat-kuatnya.
{ وتسير الجبال سيرا } تصير هباء منثورا وذلك في يوم القيامة .
Transliteration
Wataseeru aljibalu sayra
Sahih International
And the mountains will pass on, departing -
Malay
Dan gunung-ganang bergerak dari tempatnya dengan cara yang luar biasa.
{ فويل } شدة عذاب { يومئذ للمكذبين } للرسل .
Transliteration
Fawaylun yawma-ithin lilmukaththibeen
Sahih International
Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,
Malay
(Apabila berlaku yang demikian), maka kecelakaan dan kebinasaanlah pada hari itu bagi orang-orang yang mendustakan kebenaran;
{ الذين هم في خوض } باطل { يلعبون } أي يتشاغلون بكفرهم .
Transliteration
Allatheena hum fee khawdinyalAAaboon
Sahih International
Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.

Iaitu orang-orang yang leka bermain-main dalam kesesatan.
{ يوم يُدعُّون إلى نار جهنم دعّا } يدفعون بعنف بدل من يوم تمور، ويقال لهم تبكيتا .
Transliteration
Yawma yudaAAAAoona ila narijahannama daAAAAa
Sahih International
The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],
Malay
Pada hari mereka ditolak ke alam neraka Jahannam dengan penolakan yang sekasar-kasarnya,
{ هذه النار التي كنتم بها تكذبون } .
Transliteration
Hathihi annaru allateekuntum biha tukaththiboon
Sahih International
"This is the Fire which you used to deny.
Malay
(Dan dikatakan kepada mereka): "Inilah api neraka yang dahulu kamu mendustakannya.
{ أفسحر هذا } العذاب الذي ترون كما كنتم تقولون في الوحي هذا سحر { أم أنتم لا تبصرون } .
Transliteration
Afasihrun hatha am antum latubsiroon
Sahih International
Then is this magic, or do you not see?
Malay
"Maka adakah ini sihir juga (sebagaimana yang kamu katakan terhadap keterangan Rasul Kami dahulu?), atau kamu tidak nampak (kenyataannya sebagaimana kamu tidak nampak di dunia dahulu akan kebenaran Rasul Kami)?
{ اصلوْها فاصبروا } عليها { أو لا تصبروا } صبركم وجزعكم { سواء عليكم } لأن صبركم لا ينفعكم { إنما تجزون ما كنتم تعملون } أي جزاءه .
Transliteration
Islawha fasbirooaw la tasbiroo sawaon AAalaykum innamatujzawna ma kuntum taAAmaloon
Sahih International
[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient - it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do."
Malay
"Rasalah bakarannya; kemudian sama ada kamu bersabar (menderita azabnya) atau tidak bersabar, sama sahaja (tidak ada faedahnya) kepada kamu, kerana kamu tidak dibalas melainkan dengan apa yang kamu telah kerjakan".
{ إن المتقين في جنات ونعيم } .
Transliteration
Inna almuttaqeena fee jannatinwanaAAeem
Sahih International
Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,
Malay
Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang bertaqwa, di tempatkan dalam taman-taman Syurga dan nikmat kesenangan (yang tidak ada taranya).
{ فاكهين } متلذذين { بما } مصدرية { آتاهم } أعطاهم { ربهم ووقاهم ربهم عذاب الجحيم } عطفا على آتاهم، أي بإتيانهم ووقايتهم ويقال لهم .
Transliteration
Fakiheena bima atahumrabbuhum wawaqahum rabbuhum AAathaba aljaheem
Sahih International
Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.
Malay
Mereka bersenang lenang dengan apa yang dikurniakan oleh Tuhan mereka, dan mereka dipelihara Tuhan dari azab neraka.
{ كلوا واشربوا هنيئا } حال أي: مهنئين { بما } الباء سببية { كنتم تعملون } .
Transliteration
Kuloo washraboo hanee-an bimakuntum taAAmaloon
Sahih International
[They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do."
Malay
(Dan dikatakan kepada mereka): "Makan dan minumlah kamu makanan dan minuman yang lazat serta baik kesudahannya, dengan sebab apa yang kamu telah kerjakan".
( متكئين ) حال من الضمير المستكن في قوله "" في جنات "" ( على سرر مصفوفة ) بعضها إلى جنب بعض ( وزوجناهم ) عطف على جنات ، أي قرناهم ( بحور عين ) عظام الأعين حسانها .
Transliteration
Muttaki-eena AAala sururin masfoofatinwazawwajnahum bihoorin AAeen
Sahih International
They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.

Mereka duduk berbaring di atas pelamin-pelamin yang berderet; dan Kami jadikan kawan teman mereka bidadari-bidadari yang putih melepak, lagi luas cantik matanya.
{ والذين آمنوا } مبتدأ { أتبعناهم } وفي قراءة واتبعتهم معطوف على آمنوا { ذرياتهم } وفي قراءة ذريتهم الصغار والكبار { بإيمان } من الكبار ومن أولادهم الصغار والخبر { ألحقنا بهم ذرياتهم } المذكورين في الجنة فيكونون في درجتهم وإن لم يعملوا تكرمة للآباء باجتماع الأولاد إليهم { وما ألتناهم } بفتح اللام وكسرها نقصناهم { من عملهم من } زائدة {شيء } يزاد في عمل الأولاد { كل امرئ بما كسب } من عمل خير أو شر { رهين } مرهون يؤاخذ بالشر ويجازى بالخير .
Transliteration
Wallatheena amanoo wattabaAAat-humthurriyyatuhum bi-eemanin alhaqnabihim thurriyyatahum wama alatnahum minAAamalihim min shay-in kullu imri-in bima kasaba raheen
Sahih International
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.
Malay
Dan orang-orang yang beriman yang diturut oleh zuriat keturunannya dengan keadaan beriman, Kami hubungkan (himpunkan) zuriat keturunannya itu dengan mereka (di dalam Syurga); dan Kami (dengan itu) tidak mengurangi sedikitpun dari pahala amal-amal mereka; tiap-tiap seorang manusia terikat dengan amal yang dikerjakannya.
{ وأمددناهم } زدناهم في وقت بعد وقت { بفاكهة ولحم ما يشتهون } وإن لم يصرحوا بطلبه .
Transliteration
Waamdadnahum bifakihatin walahminmimma yashtahoon
Sahih International
And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.
Malay
Dan (penduduk Syurga itu) Kami tambahi mereka (dari semasa ke semasa), dengan buah-buahan dan daging dari berbagai jenis yang mereka ingini.
{ يتنازعون } يتعاطون بينهم { فيها } أي الجنة { كأسا } خمرا { لا لغوٌ فيها } أي بسبب شربها يقع بينهم { ولا تأثيم } به يلحقهم بخلاف خمر الدنيا .
Transliteration
YatanazaAAoona feeha ka/san lalaghwun feeha wala ta/theem
Sahih International
They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.
Malay
Mereka di dalam Syurga itu (kerana melahirkan kemesraan antara satu dengan yang lain): berebut-rebut mengambil piala yang berisi arak yang tidak menyebabkan timbul (dari peminumnya) perkara yang sia-sia dan tidak pula menyebabkan (peminumnya menanggung) dosa.
{ ويطوف عليهم } للخدمة { غلمان } أرقاء { لهم كأنهم } حسنا ولطافة { لؤلؤ مكنون } مصون في الصدف لأنه فيها أحسن منه في غيرها .
Transliteration
Wayatoofu AAalayhim ghilmanunlahum kaannahum lu/luon maknoon
Sahih International
There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.
Malay
Dan mereka dilayani oleh anak-anak muda lelaki yang sentiasa beredar di sekitar mereka, (yang cantik parasnya) seolah-olah anak-anak muda itu mutiara yang tersimpan dengan sebaik-baiknya.
{ وأقبل بعضهم على بعض يتساءلون } يسأل بعضهم بعضا عما كانوا عليه وما وصلوا إليه تلذذا واعترافا بالنعمة .
Transliteration
Waaqbala baAAduhum AAala baAAdinyatasaaloon
Sahih International
And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
Malay
Dan (dengan berada dalam nikmat itu) mereka berhadap-hadapan satu sama lain sambil bertanya-tanya.
{ قالوا } إيماء إلى علة الوصول { إنا كنا قبل في أهلنا } في الدنيا { مشفقين } خائفين من عذاب الله .
Transliteration
Qaloo inna kunna qablufee ahlina mushfiqeen
Sahih International
They will say, "Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah ].
Malay
Mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami dahulu, semasa berada dalam kalangan keluarga kami - selalu merasa cemas takut (daripada berlaku derhaka kepada Allah),
{ فمنّ الله علينا } بالمغفرة { ووقانا عذاب السموم } النار لدخولها في المسام وقالوا إيماء أيضا .
Transliteration
Famanna Allahu AAalayna wawaqanaAAathaba assamoom
Sahih International
So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.
Malay
"Maka Allah mengurniakan kami (rahmat dan taufiqNya), serta memelihara kami dari azab neraka.
{ إنا كنا من قبل } أي في الدنيا { ندعوه } نعبده موحدين { إنه } بالكسر استئنافا وإن كان تعليلا معنى وبالفتح تعليلا لفظا { هو البر } المحسن الصادق في وعده { الرحيم } العظيم الرحمة .
Transliteration
Inna kunna min qablu nadAAoohuinnahu huwa albarru arraheem
Sahih International
Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful."
Malay
"Sesungguhnya kami dahulu tetap menyembahNya (dan memohon pertolonganNya). Kerana sesungguhnya Dia lah sahaja yang sentiasa melimpahkan ihsanNya, lagi Yang Maha Mengasihani".
{ فذكِّر } دم على تذكير المشركين ولا ترجع عنه لقولهم لك كاهن مجنون { فما أنت بنعمة ربك } بإنعامه عليك { بكاهن } خبر ما { ولا مجنون } معطوف عليه .
Transliteration
Fathakkir fama anta biniAAmatirabbika bikahin wala majnoon
Sahih International
So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.
Malay
Maka hendaklah engkau (wahai Muhammad) tetap tekun memberi peringatan (dengan ajaran-ajaran Al-Quran yang diturunkan kepadamu, dan janganlah dihiraukan golongan yang ingkar), kerana engkau dengan nikmat Tuhanmu (yang dilimpahkanNya kepadamu itu) bukanlah seorang pawang dan bukan pula seorang gila.
{ أم } بل { يقولون } هو { شاعر نتربص به ريْب المنون } حوادث الدهر فيهلك كغيره من الشعراء .
Transliteration
Am yaqooloona shaAAirun natarabbasubihi rayba almanoon
Sahih International
Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?"
Malay
(Mereka menuduh Nabi Muhammad dengan yang bukan-bukan), bahkan mereka mengatakan: "(Muhammad) itu seorang penyair yang kami tunggu-tunggu saat kebinasaannya".
{ قل تربصوا } هلاكي { فإني معكم من المتربصين } هلاككم فعذبوا بالسيف يوم بدر، والتربص الانتظار .
Transliteration
Qul tarabbasoo fa-innee maAAakum minaalmutarabbiseen
Sahih International
Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters."
Malay
Katakanlah (wahai Muhammad): "Tunggulah kamu (akan apa yang kamu tuduh itu), maka sesungguhnya aku juga dari orang-orang yang menunggu bersama-sama kamu (akan apa yang dijanjikan oleh Allah Taala)".
{ أم تأمرهم أحلامهم } عقولهم { بهذا } قولهم له: ساحر كاهن مجنون، أي لا تأمرهم بذلك { أم } بل { هم قوم طاغون } بعنادهم .
Transliteration
Am ta/muruhum ahlamuhum bihathaam hum qawmun taghoon
Sahih International
Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
Malay
Adakah mereka disuruh oleh akal fikiran mereka melemparkan tuduhan-tuduhan yang sedemikian itu, atau sememangnya mereka suatu kaum yang melampaui batas (dalam keingkaran dan kedegilannya)?
{ أم يقولون تقوَّلهُ } اختلق القرآن، لم يختلقه { بل لا يؤمنون } استكبارا، فإن قالوا اختلقه .
Transliteration
Am yaqooloona taqawwalahu bal layu/minoon
Sahih International
Or do they say, "He has made it up"? Rather, they do not believe.
Malay
(Bukan sahaja mereka ingkar dan degil) bahkan mereka berkata: "Dia (Muhammad) telah mereka-reka Al-Quran itu". (Tuduhan mereka yang demikian tidak berasas) bahkan mereka sengaja tidak mahu beriman!
{ فليأتوا بحديث } مختلق { مثله إن كانوا صادقين } في قولهم .
Transliteration
Falya/too bihadeethin mithlihi in kanoosadiqeena
Sahih International
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
Malay
(Kalau tidak) maka hendaklah mereka membuat dan mendatangkan kata-kata (yang fasih dan indah) seperti Al-Quran itu, jika betul mereka orang-orang yang benar dakwaannya.
{ أم خُلقوا من غير شيء } من غير خالق { أم هم الخالقون } أنفسهم ولا يعقل مخلوق بغير خالق ولا معدوم يخلق فلابد من خالق هو الله الواحد فلم لا يوحدونه ويؤمنون برسوله وكتابه .
Transliteration
Am khuliqoo min ghayri shay-in am humu alkhaliqoon
Sahih International
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
Malay
(Mengapa mereka tidak beriman?) Adakah mereka telah tercipta dengan tiada yang menciptanya, atau adakah mereka yang mencipta diri mereka sendiri?
{ أم خلقوا السماوات والأرض } ولا يقدر على خلقهما إلا الله الخالق فلم لا يعبدونه { بل لا يوقنون } به وإلا لآمنوا بنبيه .
Transliteration
Am khalaqoo assamawatiwal-arda bal la yooqinoon
Sahih International
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
Malay
Adakah mereka yang mencipta langit dan bumi itu? (Sudah tentu tidak!) Bahkan mereka adalah orang-orang yang tidak meyakini (kebenaran apa yang mereka pernah mengakuinya).
{ أم عندهم خزائن ربك } من النبوة والرزق وغيرهما فيخصوا من شاءُوا بما شاءُوا { أم هم المسيطرون } المتسلطون الجبارون وفعله سيطر ومثله بيطر وبيقر .
Transliteration
Am AAindahum khaza-inu rabbika amhumu almusaytiroon
Sahih International
Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?
Malay
Adakah pada tangan mereka perbendaharaan Tuhanmu (sehingga mereka boleh memberi atau menahan sesuatu nikmat atau pangkat), atau merekalah yang berkuasa mentadbirkan segala-galanya?
{ أم لهم سلم } مرقى إلى السماء { يستمعون فيه } أي عليه كلام الملائكة حتى يمكنهم منازعة النبي بزعمهم إن ادعوا ذلك { فليأت مبين } بحجة مستمعهم مدعي الاستماع عليه { بسلطان مبين } بينة واضحة ولشبه هذا الزعم بزعمهم أن الملائكة بنات الله قال تعالى .
Transliteration
Am lahum sullamun yastamiAAoona feehifalya/ti mustamiAAuhum bisultanin mubeen
Sahih International
Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.
Malay
Adakah mereka mempunyai tangga (untuk naik ke langit), yang dengannya mereka dapat mendengar (apa yang diperintahkan dan ditetapkan oleh Allah? Jika ada) maka biarlah orang mereka yang mendengar itu membawa sesuatu bukti yang menyatakan kebenarannya.
{ أم له البنات } بزعمكم { ولكم البنون } تعالى الله عما زعمتموه .
Transliteration
Am lahu albanatu walakumu albanoon
Sahih International
Or has He daughters while you have sons?
Malay
Adilkah (kamu sediakan) bagi Allah - anak-anak perempuan (yang kamu benci), dan untuk kamu - anak-anak lelaki (yang kamu sukai)?
{ أم تسألهم أجرا } على ما جئتهم به من الدين { فهم من مغرم } غرم ذلك { مثقلون } فلا يسلمون .
Transliteration
Am tas-aluhum ajran fahum min maghraminmuthqaloon
Sahih International
Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
Malay
Pernahkah engkau (wahai Muhammad) meminta sebarang bayaran kepada mereka (mengenai ajaran Islam yang engkau sampaikan), lalu mereka merasa berat menanggung bayaran itu (sehingga menjauhkan diri daripada menyahut seruanmu)?
{ أم عندهم الغيب } أي علمه { فهم يكتبون } ذلك حتى يمكنهم منازعة النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم في البعث وأمور الآخرة بزعمهم .
Transliteration
Am AAindahumu alghaybu fahum yaktuboon
Sahih International
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
Malay
Adakah pada sisi mereka (Lauh Mahfuz yang mengandungi) perkara-perkara yang ghaib, lalu mereka menyalin (daripadanya untuk menentang ajaran dan peringatanmu)?
{ أم يريدون كيدا } بك ليهلكوك في دار الندوة { فالذين كفروا هم المكيدون } المغلوبون المهلكون فحفظه الله منهم ثم أهلكهم ببدر .
Transliteration
Am yureedoona kaydan fallatheenakafaroo humu almakeedoon
Sahih International
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve - they are the object of a plan.
Malay
(Mereka tidak cukup dengan kata-kata dan tuduhan-tuduhan yang buruk sahaja) bahkan mereka hendak melakukan rancangan jahat (terhadapmu wahai Muhammad; tetapi mereka tidak akan berjaya) kerana orang-orang yang kafir itulah yang akan ditimpa balasan rancangan jahatnya.
{ أم لهم إله غير الله سبحان الله عما يشركون } به من الآلهة والاستفهام بأم في مواضعها للتقبيح والتوبيخ .
Transliteration
Am lahum ilahun ghayru Allahisubhana Allahi AAamma yushrikoon
Sahih International
Or have they a deity other than Allah ? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
Malay
(Apabila datangnya balasan rancangan jahat itu maka) adakah bagi mereka Tuhan (yang dapat menyelamatkan mereka) selain dari Allah? Maha Suci Allah dari apa yang mereka sekutukan itu.
( وإن يروا كسفا ) بعضا ( من السماء ساقطا ) عليهم كما قالوا : "" فأسقط علينا كسفا من السماء "" أي تعذيبا لهم ( يقولوا ) هذا ( سحاب مركوم ) متراكب نروى به ولا يؤمنون .
Transliteration
Wa-in yaraw kisfan mina assama-isaqitan yaqooloo sahabun markoom
Sahih International
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
Malay
Dan kiranya mereka melihat sepotong besar dari langit gugur (untuk menimpa mereka), mereka akan berkata: "(Itu adalah) awan yang bertompok - berlapis-lapis!"
{ فذرهم حتى يلاقوا يومهم الذي فيه يصعقون } يموتون .
Transliteration
Fatharhum hatta yulaqooyawmahumu allathee feehi yusAAaqoon
Sahih International
So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible -
Malay
(Kalau keingkaran dan kedegilan mereka sampai begitu sekali) maka biarkanlah mereka (wahai Muhammad, dan janganlah dihiraukan) sehingga mereka menemui hari yang padanya mereka akan binasa -
{ يوم لا يغني } بدل من يومهم { عنهم كيدهم شيئا ولا هم يُنصرون } يمنعون من العذاب في الآخرة .
Transliteration
Yawma la yughnee AAanhum kayduhumshay-an wala hum yunsaroon
Sahih International
The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
Malay
(Iaitu) hari segala rancangan jahat dan tipu daya mereka tidak dapat mendatangkan sebarang faedah kepada mereka, dan mereka pula tidak diberikan pertolongan.
{ وإنَّ للذين ظلموا } بكفرهم { عذابا دون ذلك } في الدنيا قبل موتهم فعذبوا بالجوع والقحط سبع سنين وبالقتل يوم بدر { ولكن أكثرهم لا يعلمون } أن العذاب ينزل بهم .
Transliteration
Wa-inna lillatheena thalamooAAathaban doona thalika walakinna aktharahumla yaAAlamoon
Sahih International
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
Malay
Sesungguhnya orang-orang yang zalim itu akan beroleh azab seksa selain dari azab yang tersebut, akan tetapi kebanyakan mereka tidak mengetahui (hakikat yang sebenarnya).
{ واصبر لحكم ربك } بإمهالهم ولا يضق صدرك { فإنك بأعيننا } بمرأى منا نراك ونحفظك { وسبح } متلبسا { بحمد ربك } أي قل: سبحان الله وبحمده { حين تقوم } من منامك أو من مجلسك .
Transliteration
Wasbir lihukmi rabbikafa-innaka bi-aAAyunina wasabbih bihamdirabbika heena taqoom
Sahih International
And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord when you arise.

Dan (dengan yang demikian) bersabarlah (wahai Muhammad) menerima hukum Tuhanmu (memberi tempoh kepada mereka), kerana sesungguhnya engkau tetap terselamat dalam pemuliharaan serta pengawasan Kami; dan bertasbihlah dengan memuji Tuhanmu semasa engkau bangun.
{ ومن الليل فسبحه } حقيقة أيضا { وإدبار النجوم } مصدر، أي عقب غروبها سبحه أيضا، أو صلّ في الأول العشاءين، وفي الثاني الفجر وقيل الصبح .
Transliteration
Wamina allayli fasabbihhu wa-idbaraannujoom
Sahih International
And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.

Dan juga hendaklah engkau bertasbih kepadaNya pada waktu malam, dan ketika bintang-bintang tenggelam (pada waktu subuh).

52. At-Tur Introduction
Name
It is derived from the very first cord “WatTur-i.”
Period of Revelation
From the internal evidence of the subject matter it appears that this Surah too was revealed in the same stage of the Holy Prophet’s life at Makkah in which the Surah Adh-Dhariyat was revealed. While going through it one can clearly feel that during the period of its revelation the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was being showered with objections and accusations but there is no evidence yet to show that severe persecution of the Muslims had started.
Subject Matter and Topics
The subject matter of its first section (vv. 1-28) is the Hereafter. As arguments for its possibility, necessity and occurrence had already been given in Surah Adh-Dhariyat, these have not been repeated here. However, swearing an oath by some realities and signs which testify to the Hereafter, it has been stated most emphatically that it will surely come to pass, and none has the power to prevent its occurrence.
Then, it has been stated as to what will be the fate of those who deny it when it actually occurs, and how will those who believe in it and adopt the way of piety and righteousness accordingly, be blessed by Allah.
Then, in the second section (vv. 29-49) the Quraish chiefs’ attitude towards the message of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah he upon him) has been criticized. They called him a sorcerer, a madman, or a poet, and would thus mislead the common people against him so that they should not pay any serious attention to the message he preached.
They looked upon him as a calamity that had suddenly descended on them and would openly wish that he met with a disaster so that they were rid of him. They accused him of fabricating the Qur’an by himself and of presenting it in the name of Allah, and this was, God forbid, a fraud that he was practising. They would often taunt him, saying that God could not have appointed an ordinary man like him to the office of Prophethood.
They expressed great disgust at his invitation and message and would avoid him as if he was asking them for a reward for it. They would sit and take counsels together to devise schemes in order to put an end to his mission. And while they did all this they never realized what creeds of ignorance they were involved in and how selflessly and sincerely was Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) exerting himself to deliver them from their error.
While criticizing them for this attitude and conduct, Allah has put them certain questions, one after the other, each of which is either an answer to some objection of theirs, or a criticism of some error. Then, it has been said that it would absolutely be of no avail to show them a miracle in order to convince them of his Prophethood, for they were such stubborn people as would misinterpret anything they were shown only to avoid affirming the faith.
In the beginning of this section as well as in its end, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) has been given the instruction that he should persistently continue giving his invitation and preaching his message in spite of the accusations and objections of his opponents and enemies, and should endure their resistance patiently till Allah’s judgment comes to pass.
Besides, he has been consoled, as if to say “Your Lord has not left you alone to face your enemies, after raising you as a Prophet, but He is constantly watching over you. Therefore, endure every hardship patiently till the Hour of His judgment comes, and seek through praising and glorifying your Lord the power that is required for exerting in the cause of Allah under such conditions.
